A lot has been happening in the local dev community lately. ggdev, phmodev, ffc, tedx… If only I could get out of this seemingly-always-on slacker mode hehe
I should read and participate more.

Installed Eclipse Ganymede on major. I used the package on eclipse.org with the Ubuntu Community Wiki as a guide. Then, Android. ^_^

ggdev. The first session was really interesting. The speaker demo’ed to us the new things we should look forward to in HTML5. I still dont know if I’ll take the path of becoming a webdev but it’s nice to know these things. The second part was so-so. At least for me, since I dont really give much thought about social networking sites and how one can harness their APIs to create something useful(?) hehehe. The saving grace was when Globe Labs demo’d the capabilities of their Location-Based Services API used in conjunction with Facebook and other stuff. They were able to create a webapp that can track the location a Globe user. Raaaaaaawr I was actually thinking of something like that before for our software project. ^_^ Wait brb.

Just signed up for Google Dev Workshop. They partnered with Globe on this one. I still don’t consider myself a dev but I’d be a hypocrite if I say that I did not enjoy hacking through lines of code. I just don’t like deadlines and pressure from good-for-naught, clueless higher-ups.
Speaking of deadlines, Papyrus should be up and running by Monday. FWIW, it has already reached beta stage, I think. I just have to do some minor tweaks on the UI and finish the “module” for reports. So much for putting just one man on this project. Heh

Finally, I was able to fix the WSOD that results whenever I enable the DHTML Menu module. The first conflict seems to be with DHTML Menu and Devel module. I just disabled the Theme Developer module. Pero di rin don natapos. There was another conflict with the two themes I was using, Acquia Slate and Garland. Replacing Garland with RootCandy did it.

Papyrus’ NIC was acting up earlier. updownupdown. Putting it on 10 full did it. And there was a conflict between Theme Developer and DHTML Menu. Should keep that in mind, lest I get another freaking SOL.
